She was one of our best and sweetest. Betty never changed throughtout the years and always kept her faith even through the most trying times. To me she remains the same freckled faced kid I knew in AHS. Love you Betty.

Those not on Facebook might enjoy seeing Betty's very touching last post there, only four days before she died:

I was out on the front porch enjoying the cool crisp air and was just thinking. There is so much "bad" going on in the world today, but I can honestly say that due to Facebook, my life has really improved beyond measure this past year. How grateful I am to be able to re-connect with so many old friends, some that I have not been in touch with since 1966-1975 or so. It is such a blessing to be able to share our family stories and once again have such friends in my life and filling my heart with happiness that just confirms why some of us were friends to begin with.

So, this Christmas and New Year Holiday Season, I am focusing on the Joy of friendships, the Love of family and the Hope of tomorrow and days to come. I am not going to let the outside world events take away from these blessings in my life. I am going to pray for Peace and do what I am able with random acts of  kindness, to try to make someone's day better in even a small way. I will watch some nice Christmas movies and not even think of the elections and other things that seem to drain the joy of our everyday living.

I sincerely wish all my friends, new and old, the very best Holiday Season possible; good health, happy times with family & friends and safe travels. I wish all of you a wonderful and Hopeful 2016 ahead.

Seeing Betty's lovely holiday message on FB on December 11 and learning that she was gone just a few days later is heartbreaking. But we all brought light into each other's lives in our FB exchanges and made a difference for Betty at a time when it mattered. So thankful for that.
